Linux vs Microsoft
There is no need to be concerned about which platform to choose here, what you need to be concerned about is the functionality you need. For the administrators and super user geeks, what we can brief you about is the difference between Linux and Microsoft. Linux uses cPanel which has an easy-to-use administration interface, Microsoft on the other hand uses WebsitePanel which accommodates .Net hosting; Linux is the best for PHP and MySQL, and Microsoft is the best for ASP .NET and MS SQL. We only currently only cover Linux and we cater for Microsoft on request.
The Standard package (Linux Only)
The Standard package, which is based on Linux, has been designed to accommodate a basic database website. If you're considering running a small blog (Joomla or Wordpress) or want to install and configure a database to store or retrieve information then this package is the best for you. All of the click-to-install websites or Central Management Systems require a database to function.
Standard and Premium Hosting
If you need your website to store and retrieve information, the same function a blog has, then you'll need a database. Fully furnished with SQL databases, our Standard and Premium packages are perfect for sites such as directories, blog spots, e-commerce (online-shops) and forums.
Wait a minute, how much disk space and traffic do I need for my website?
3 GB: This space is best for small websites or individual email accounts.
5 GB: Leaving enough space to grow, 5 GB is what you’ll need for an average-sized blog or website.
Unlimited: This control package is recommended for larger websites run by medium to larger corporates, this package is also ideal if you host lots of images, documents and other media and you wish to grow in the long run.
Traffic: Traffic means the amount of content and media that your site displays to visitors. The more people find and use your website, the more traffic (or in other words bandwidth) you need. Our Standard and Premium packages come with unlimited traffic.
